Drywall Sheet Calculator
Estimate sheets for net walls and an optional ceiling. Pool layers before rounding the final panel count.
Worked example loaded. These are example measurements and product assumptions.
THE METHOD
How to use this estimate
- Enter a net surface area or measure one rectangular room. Room mode subtracts counted doors and windows once.
- Include a flat ceiling only when needed. Direct area already includes every surface you want to cover.
- Total all layers before applying allowance and rounding sheets. Enter the actual dimensions of the chosen panels.
sheets = ceil(net surface × layers × (1 + allowance/100) ÷ panel area)

Questions, answered
Are both sides of a partition included?
No. Room walls describe one face. Add the opposite face explicitly to a net direct area when required.
Why are two layers not simply twice the rounded sheet count?
The unrounded coverage of every layer is pooled before the final sheet purchase is rounded.
