THE METHOD

How to use this estimate

  1. Enter inside room dimensions or a known net floor area.
  2. Apply waste to physical area before calculating boxes. The allowance is editable and should reflect your layout and material.
  3. Coverage per box comes from the product label. Estimated leftover is purchased coverage minus the allowance-adjusted requirement.
FORMULA / ENGINE VERSION 1.0

boxes = ceil(floor area × (1 + waste / 100) ÷ coverage per box)
